Brian O’Driscoll comes from a family of physicians and was born in Dublin. However, his family has deep roots in rugby as well. His father played for Ireland as well as an uncle won several caps in his playing career. It was his other uncle, John, who helps to put a Driscoll’s name on the map as he had represented Ireland about 26 times as well as being part of the Lions.
O’Driscoll played Gaelic football as a child, but he started to play rugby from secondary education onwards. At such a time he was in Blackrock College where he was part of the Senior Cup team during the years 1996 and 1997. Continue reading “Focus on: Brian O’Driscoll”
